EXAMINATIONS, GRADING, ACADEMIC PROBATION/SUSPENSION AND DISHONESTY.

Grades for the course will be based on the student performance on two examinations, course project and discussion questions.

Because examinations are the only supervised activities required for directed independent study courses, examination grades are major factors in determining course grades AIIGS will not release final grades or award credit until outstanding accounts, if any, are paid in full and all rented/borrowed materials are returned.

Final examinations at AIIGS’s directed Independent study program are proctored. Before you are given the final examination for each course, all required assignments for that course and course project must have been received by your instructor. You must contact the individual who will proctor your examination and provide AIIGS with details about the proctor. Examinations are e-mailed to the proctor of your choice. AIIGS reserves the right to approve or reject a proposed examination supervisor. Relatives may not proctor an examination, regardless of their academic qualifications.

You must make arrangement to take your final examinations under the supervision of a full-time teaching faculty of a university in your area.

The A,B,C,D,F system of grading is used. The final grade will be a letter as either:
90 – 100 = A
80 – 89 = B
70 – 79 = C
60 – 69 = D
0 – 59 = F

Grade reports are available to students at the end of the semester through the online student information system. Deficiency reports are sent at mid-semester to those students who have been reported as making unsatisfactory progress by their instructors. Only the final grade for the course is permanently recorded.

A student who receives two (2) “C” grades will be placed on academic probation. A student who receives more than two (2) “C” grades will be suspended from the graduate program for at least one academic year.
